At the top of the staircase was a beautiful church, this is our first cathedral visit (there are over 600 cathedrals in Rome). So we were awed by it, we had no idea how miniscule it would appear to be compared to the basilica we saw later that day. I studied about the painting called St Michael the Archangel in school and I saw it at this cathedral. ( Picture of Michael in red robes) I love it when I can identify a picture and understand its significance. Here is an outside view of this church that overlooks the Spanish Steps as well. I have an awesome video of the church but it wont upload for some reason.
